NAKastrophe
“Secret marriage is one of several kinds of violation by men of the rights and dignity of women. I have been informed that it is increasingly common for Muslim preachers in Europe and America and for those visiting the West to marry women in secret and for a short period, after which they, presumably, end the marriage, before going on to contract another marriage of the same sort somewhere else. This is a violation of the laws and good purposes of marriage, and a vicious exploitation of women whose circumstances oblige them to enter into such contracts.”
Ali, Orlando, Asia, Adnan, Undisclosed
ALI When Muhammad Ali died I cried. A deep sadness set in and every so often I’d just have a little breakdown for the first few days. I know it wasn’t just me, I’m just one of millions of others who felt a connection to him, a pride in him and a love for him despite...
Officer Of The Court
The current prosecutor in Adnan's case, the esteemed DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND Thiru Vignarajah, has been playing dirty in another case. A motion filed in court today alleges, through the testimony of Baltimore detectives themselves, that Thiru...
House of Cards
But I doubt it. Because this house of cards, which has been crumbling for the past year, is not yet done falling to bits. Keep watching, folks. A few final blows remain yet to Urick (everything he did to thwart a fair trial for Adnan is not yet public) and also to someone else.
The cards of the esteemed Deputy Attorney General of Maryland Thiru , who is leading the charge on behalf of the State, will also very soon fall fast and hard. And the world will bear witness to how low prosecutors are willing to go to get their convictions. And I will repeatedly remind everyone that he is the Deputy Attorney General.
Profiling
Yesterday Bob Ruff's Truth and Justice podcast was fascinating. After his shoutouts to the Undisclosed team and all the volunteers helping us dig up information (right back at you Bob), he featured an interview with the very famous Jim Clemente. I've been in...
Hae and “K” Speak
A few days ago Susan blogged, after many moons and much anticipation (I love her posts), and what a write-up it was. Susan tackled the very difficult and sobering issue of the lividity, the way Hae's body was found at the crime scene, and mysterious marks that appear...
Fightin’ Words
So the State of Maryland filed its response to Adnan's motion to reopen, which, by way of reminder, he was directed to do by the higher court, the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland. I'd say when the higher court literally says "yeah go file that motion" instead of...
And It’s Only Wednesday
“That’s how we greet each other on the Eid holiday, wishing blessings on this day. We give gifts on this occasion, so my gift to readers today are these documents below, a glimpse into the kind of person Adnan is. When you go through them, think about what he could have been. What Jay and Urick and others took from him. And say a prayer that he gets the chance to have a life again.”
It’s On Now
Yesterday was a good day for Adnan and his supporters. Not such a good day for the State of Maryland. First they got bitten in the bum by their brilliant maneuver of referring to the cell phone records as their response to Asia's alibi for the 2:36pm call, thereby...
So Hard to Say Goodbye
What I can’t shake is the burial site, lividity and Hae’s car. There is a lot that was manipulated by the cops and state to nail Adnan (and we’ve got more mind-blowing revelations coming up), and his defense counsel was a hot mess, but none of that tells us what actually happened to Hae. But these three things, the burial spot, her lividity, her car, speak. We have to extract the truth from them for now as our investigation is ongoing.
